The Center for Urban and Regional Studies is part of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, China’s oldest research institute in the humanities and social sciences. This inter-disciplinary centre was established to meet the challenges of social and economic change in China today. The researchers of CURS address research topics such as urban strategic planning and sustainable development. CURS is a well-respected non-profit think tank with a mission to conduct high-quality, objective theoretical research. Through its network of international collaborations it provides effective, enduring and innovative public policy recommendations, consultations as well as education in guiding social transformation and reform. CURS has a wide international exchange network and welcomes foreign researchers to participate in its projects.
